This shoot has got to be one of the most unexpected that I've done so far. My initial reaction to this was "Really?".

However, the more that I thought of the idea, the less I became surprised at having to do this. It is after all what I try to do in every photo I make, to lean in to what makes you different.
Shooting this in public did quite get a lot of attention. A lot of people were giving their congratulatory remarks. They all seemed happy for Affie, with her "wedding" dress and all the while we are laughing because this was not really a wedding shoot. It was more like a portrait shoot of what it's gonna be.
In every shoot that I do, I always make it a point to capture the more candid moments. Posing to get a specific photo was never really something that I saw myself doing. I much rather prefer the unguarded moments where true emotions and feelings would just leak out from the people.
I do not want to take photos of statues. I want to make photos of people, of who they really are.
